5:00 pm       Seven Canyons Tom Weiskopf Meeting Room

We kick off with an opportunity to get to know the other women attending this event while tasting wines from local vineyards owned and operated by women. Tasty bites from the Seven Canyons kitchen will be served. The evening will include an introduction to the Empowered Women’s Retreat program and set the stage for the next few days.

8:00 am       Breakfast

8:30 am      Workshop:  What do you want?  Shape success for you as a leader

• How to find and stay true to your purpose.
• How you can build better relationships so people trust you.
• Identify how you communicate direction to others and explore new ways to get people to embrace your leadership. 

11:00 am     Practice Tee:  Learn how golf can make a difference in your leadership

Rotations:  

• Full Swing: The big picture
• Short Game: Mastering the essentials
• Putting: Details matter

Box lunch will be provided at the practice park

1:00 pm     On Course

There will be two groups. More experienced golfers will play the Seven Canyons course. New players will continue their instruction by learning about golf etiquette, rules of the game and the basics of good business golf. This group will also participate in “walking a hole” where they will learn firsthand every step from the tee box to the green and how to act like an expert.

5:00 pm     Happy Hour on the Patio at the Clubhouse

A wrap up for the day and a review of lessons learned. 

6:00 pm     BBQ on the Patio at the Clubhouse

Relax and enjoy the sunset along with some fantastic Southwestern fare to end the day with.

8:30 am       Workshop: Me, We and It How to care for yourself, your team and your organization 

• Your core values and how they influence your leadership style
• What are your blind spots and what to do about it
• Ways to master adaptability so you’re prepared for any situation

12:00 pm      Lunch on the Patio

1:00 pm       The Team Tee Off: Where golf and business come together

This fun, interactive exercise turns the golf course into the board room. It will challenge teams of women to successfully manage changing conditions as they execute a business strategy on the golf course.  Handling pressure, managing disagreements and seizing opportunities are all illustrated in this on course simulation. By using golf as a metaphor, tough issues become easy to talk about, strengths become obvious and the combined potential of the team is unlocked. And, as it is on the job, all skill levels can play as they help each other work towards success. Of course, rewards will go to the foursome that gets the best Return on Investment.

5:00 pm      Unwind by the pool 

Share how what we learned is similar to or different from what we experience at work. The insights are profound.

7:00 pm     Dinner and Team Tee Off Awards

A specially prepared feast by the award winning Chef Cord, a master at crafting dishes that complement the views with inspired but unpretentious fare.

8:00 am      Breakfast and closing thoughts to carry with you

Remainder of Day

Participants in the Empowered Women’s Retreat are encouraged to stay through Sunday and enjoy what the area has to offer. Spend a little more time at the pool, walk some trails through the red rocks or do a little shopping downtown. 

Those who wish to are invited to play another round of golf on the Seven Canyons fabulous course at a special discounted rate. Play with one of your new-found best friends or invite a partner traveling with you to join. Please let us know as soon as possible if you’d like to play so we can secure a tee time for you.
